Gov. Luis Miguel Barbosa of Puebla, Mexico has a theory about the Covid-19 crisis.
It’s here to wipe out the rich people.
He backs his theory with solid leftist science (in other words- an opinion). On a Facebook live broadcast, Barbosa posed the question asking who is known to be currently infected. Based on his own answer, he’s formed a hypothesis.
“The majority are wealthy people, you know,” Barbosa said. “If you’re rich you’re at risk, but if you’re poor, no, well us poor, we are immune.” Notice Barbosa throws himself in with the poor, just like Bernie Sanders likes to do.
Definitely sounds like solid science to me! Don’t ya think? Of course, American leftists prefer a different narrative. One in which no one is immune and the dangers are immeasurable.

There is no scientific evidence to suggest the virus effects people differently due to economic status. His remarks sparked an uproar on social media, with many questioning why a government official would spread information that has no basis in fact.
Barbosa noted that many of those who contracted the virus had recently traveled, suggesting a link between wealth and travel. Of Mexico’s 475 confirmed cases so far, about 75% were connected to international travel, according to federal health statistics. As of Thursday afternoon, 44 people had tested positive for the virus in Puebla.
Asked about the remarks at a Thursday press conference, Barbosa refused to comment.
Mexican protesters have shut a US southern border crossing amid fears that untested American travellers will spread coronavirus.
Residents in Sonora, south of the US state of Arizona, have promised to block traffic into Mexico for a second day after closing a checkpoint for hours on Wednesday.
They wore face masks and held signs telling Americans to “stay at home”.
Mexico has fewer than 500 confirmed Covid-19 cases and the US over 65,000.
The border is supposed to be closed to all except “essential” business, but protesters said there has been little enforcement and no testing by authorities.
Imagine that! Mexico loves to send over people to drain our system. They take advantage of welfare programs and healthcare. Many work jobs that pay cash under the table. Thus, they reap benefits without being taxed. So they want our money, just not our germs. Scratch that, I meant China’s germs.
It’s been a few days since the governor first let his people know they had nothing to worry about. But since then, the famous leftist backpedal started.
Mexico’s cases more than doubled between March 20th and 30th, thus debunking Barbosa’s ‘scientific’ opinion.
Mexico’s federal government has ramped up prevention measures recently. Beginning what it calls phase 2 of its crisis response, the government has shuttered schools, closed nonessential federal offices and encouraged people to say home and socially distance. A nightly press conference by the Ministry of Health updates the public on the status of the outbreak.
On Thursday morning, López Obrador told reporters the worst of the outbreak would be over by April 19. But Deputy Health Secretary Hugo Lopez-Gatell Ramírez told reporters shortly afterward that there is a strong risk that the number of cases will exponentially rise, forcing the government to take stronger preventative measures.
As of now, quarantine in Mexico is purely voluntary. Leadership isn’t very concerned about the epidemic unfolding. Heck, if we want to be real about things, Mexican citizens are more likely to get sick from turning on the water faucet. In fact, our neighbors to the south prefer their Corona with a little salt and lime.
