Mattis the Overrated Military Fraud

President Trump knows how to judge people.

When he entered the Republican presidential race in 2016 he made lots of enemies. He nicknamed some challengers. And he shamed others. After the dust settled, he invited many of them to join his team, and some accepted.

Trump showed that while he fights hard, he buries the hatchet afterward. And not like Hillary Clinton where she will bury the hatchet in your skull.

Trump is different. He’s proven that he’s willing to work with those who opposed him in battle or ideologically. But once you show your incompetence, Trump dumps you. And that’s what he did to General Mad Dog Mattis.

Mattis emerged recently to criticize the president, calling him a “divider”. Trump responded, launching a smart-bomb between Mattis’ Obama-era-military-soft buns.

The president tweeted:

Probably the only thing Barack Obama & I have in common is that we both had the honor of firing Jim Mattis, the world’s most overrated General. I asked for his letter of resignation, & felt great about it. His nickname was “Chaos”, which I didn’t like, & changed to “Mad Dog”…

…His primary strength was not military, but rather personal public relations. I gave him a new life, things to do, and battles to win, but he seldom “brought home the bacon”. I didn’t like his “leadership” style or much else about him, and many others agree. Glad he is gone!

Despite Mattis’ credentials, he’s an Obama-supporting Leftist. And we wrote about him.

Secretary of Defense James Mattis presents a problem for President Trump.

Though the man is undoubtedly a “devil dog”, he contradicts President Trump on several key foreign policy and military issues.

President Trump has already relented to the former Marine General on his views on enhanced interrogations. But more exist.

General Mattis completely breaks from the president in his support for a US-led NATO. And, this includes placing US troops in Eastern Europe. No harm, no foul, as NATO will soon have to pull its own weight. Further, a NATO-led military would likely fall under American authority. So, if that were the only discrepancies, we might overlook any concerns.

Where President Trump seems willing to work with Russia, Mattis believes Vladimir Putin is a threat to US security.

Even though Mattis opposes the Ayatollah-led government in Tehran he supports Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal.

These alone would make you question President Trump’s choice of Mattis. But there is more:

In a very Leftist move, Mattis favors placing of women into key combat roles. Further, Mattis opposed President Trump’s travel restrictions, on Muslims from countries with terrorist ties.

Next, Mattis believes climate change is real. And like Obama, Mattis believe climate change is a threat to national security.

Where our article gets even more interesting occurs in staffing.

All of the major names the White House transition team has submitted for top Pentagon positions have been rejected by Mattis.

Both Army and Navy Secretary nominees, Vincent Viola and Philip Bilden (respectively), have dropped out of consideration.

Former New Mexico Congresswoman Heather Wilson, up for Air Force Secretary, has yet to receive a Committee hearing.

Former Virginia Congressman Randy Forbes, long-rumored to be in line for Navy Secretary, is seen as a longshot because of his adversarial relationship with Mattis.

Because the White House Transition team will not consider any ‘Never Trumpers’ to the Pentagon leadership, Mattis has begun looking to appoint key Obama allies to important defense positions.

(…)

Shockingly, Mattis had originally held a spot for Michele Flournoy, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy under President Obama. Flournoy was once dubbed asHillary Clinton’s Defense Secretary in waiting. Mattis wanted Flournoy as Deputy Defense Secretary, a spot temporarily held by Obama administration holdover Robert Work.

Mattis also continues to push for the nomination of Rudy DeLeon to serve as Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness. DeLeon works at George Soros’ Center For American Progress. Moreover, like Mattis, DeLeon supports the Iran Nuclear Deal.

Further, DeLeon added his name to a letter with other top foreign policy officials denouncing the President’s original travel ban.

I defy anybody to debate Mattis’ motives.

And I’m giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. After all, Obama fired him which for me damn near makes him a hero. But Mattis is far from that.

He’s a clown who needs to keep his pie hole shut. Because we all know what happens to a mad dog.
