For Decades Democrats understood there was a line in the sand. One no Republican willingly crossed. But now, the Biden Administration opened the door to erasing that line. All in the name of one of life’s greatest atrocities. Infanticide.
We’re talking about government funded abortions. And it ain’t a pretty conversation.
There are fundamental differences between pro-lifers and pro-choicers. Obviously, us lifers aim to preserve life. And we see life present the second conception occurs. We’re not waiting for a zygote to sprout legs and become an embryo that grows into a fetus before it’s a baby. For us, it’s a baby all along. A miracle. And as such, we must protect it at all costs. Just as we would protect our own children.
Meanwhile, choicers see things differently. They know they sometimes wake up in the wrong arms and they don’t want a lifelong reminder of such nights. Instead, choicers want the ability to extinguish their young. And they hide their aloof attitudes behind rare circumstances, such as the mother of seven who will certainly die upon carrying baby number eight. Or the young girl impregnated in tragic circumstances who will be force to give birth to the result of rape. These things muddy the waters. But there’s always been a compromise.
The Amendments
Two amendments have long-represented a truce between lifers and choicers. Recently, congressional Democrats moved towards abolishing the enduring constrictions.
As the Washington Post explains:
-
-
- The best-known of these is the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits using federally funded programs like Medicaid from paying for abortions, except in a narrow set of circumstances. It has been tacked onto congressional spending measures every year since 1977, and was historically supported by many Democrats including President Biden (who last year flipped on the issue under pressure from abortion rights groups).
- Somewhat lesser-known is the Weldon Amendment, which prohibits federal funds from going to any state or local government that discriminates against health-care entities that refuse to provide or refer patients for abortions.
-
But ditching these amendments is not set in stone.
As ABC adds:
On the other side of the aisle, Rep. Kay Granger of Texas, the top Republican on the House panel, warned that overturning the Hyde Amendment would “destroy decades of bipartisan work” on the committee and called it “out of step with the view of most Americans.”
“Biden-Pelosi Democrats are scrapping decades of bipartisan consensus to force taxpayers to fund abortion, doubling down on extremism to appease an increasingly radical base,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement. “This bill is too extreme to pass the Senate and is a major political liability for pro-abortion Democrats.”
Honestly, polls say Democrats don’t have the numbers to make these changes happen. Which is a huge relief. However, there is a twist.
Racism Fuels Abortion?
We know black women have four times as many abortions as white women. And now, with a country lit up over racial disparities, abortion issues are raging. According to abortion rights groups, bans on abortion funding are racist.
The LA Times quoted:
“It’s an issue of racial justice and it’s an issue of discrimination against low-income women, women of color, women who don’t have access to what middle- and upper-income women have in terms of the choice to have an abortion,” said Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland).
But ditch the polished lingo and think about what these people are really saying. Black people need the government to pay up. Look at the way leftists line up to kill little black babies. They’ll even claim this atrocious act empowers women. Especially minorities. And it’s a damn shame.
I get it, we all have choices. We choose what we wear, where we work, and what to do on Saturday. And we’re responsible for these choices. But Democrats want to fund these choices right and left.
Leftists work to pass out more food stamps, unemployment, tax credits and stimulus payments. They’re willing to fund everything from a steak dinner to shoe shopping. But to take it this far… to the level of baby killing… that’s beyond understandable.
For more than forty years, Republicans and Democrats set aside their own personal beliefs long enough to agree on one thing. The government shouldn’t be left holding the bag. Not when it comes infanticide.
Yet, abortion funding seeks to be one more jewel in the crown of a Biden Administration. No wonder the demented clown doesn’t deserve to be a king.
