Texas can solve the rising cost of gasoline. If the White House will just butt out. Because the only thing Biden can do is make matters worse.
Where were you the last time you were happy filling up your tank? I’m betting Biden wasn’t in office yet.
Personally, I drive a Suburban. And when Trump was President, I filled it up for $45. Yesterday the grand total was a little over $80. Almost double. No wonder Americans don’t want to go to work. They can’t afford to drive there.
So where’s the answer? Turns out, it’s right here at home. We don’t need OPEC to fix the gas prices. We just need Texas.
As Fox News explained:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, ripped the White House on Wednesday, saying Texas can help reduce the price of gasoline by producing more oil if the Biden administration will “just stay out of the way.”
Abbott posted a short open letter to the White House on Twitter Wednesday, touting that Texas could help bring down the price of gas by producing oil domestically.
“Texas can do this,” Abbott wrote. “Our producers can easily produce that oil if your Administration will just stay out of the way.”
The Texas governor called on the Biden administration to allow “American workers — not OPEC — [to] produce the oil that can reduce the price of gasoline.”
“Don’t make us dependent on foreign sources of energy,” Abbott added.
Abbott’s tweet came in response to national security adviser Jake Sullivan’s recent statement calling on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to increase its oil output.
“While OPEC+ recently agreed to production increases, these increases will not fully offset previous production cuts that OPEC+ imposed during the pandemic until well into 2022,” Sullivan said.
“At a critical moment in the global recovery, this is simply not enough.”
“We are engaging with relevant OPEC+ members on the importance of competitive markets in setting prices,” the national security adviser continued. “Competitive energy markets will ensure reliable and stable energy supplies, and OPEC+ must do more to support the recovery.”
Remember the Pipeline?
I get it. There has to be a balance between the environment and industry. But God’s earth has adapted through millions of changes for billions of years. Furthermore, fossil fuels are essential in the world. Those giant windmills- guess what they need to run? Yep, good old fashioned oil. And lots of it. Those electric cars? They may not fill up on gasoline, but guess what happens when everyone is charging their cars up? It drains the electric grid. In fact, Californians are desperate for people to STOP plugging their cars in. But leftists are incapable of big picture thinking.
Trump understood the logistics behind powering our way of life. Also, he was very aware that America needs to remain independent in all endeavors. When we rely solely on foreign oil, we put ourselves at their mercy. As such, Trump paved the way for the Keystone Pipeline. Of course, it wasn’t just about the oil. The pipeline added jobs to our economy. Remember when people had jobs instead of unemployment checks?
The day Biden took office, he set out to cancel the pipeline. He put people out of work, crippled the oil supply, and took away a slice of American independence. Because Democrats don’t want America to be great again. Instead, Democrats want ‘made in China’ to be our new motto.
I say it’s time America look to Gov. Abbott for the answers. Because Texas holds the key to restoring a huge chunk of our economy. Perhaps Abbott should start thinking about the Oval Office. The clown shown can’t hold it together much longer…
