Just to be clear, I am not about suppression of free speech. But after watching our media malfeasance I changed my mind.
The media hasn’t hired journalists in ages. The truth is America has no media as we defined it a few decades ago. Today, Americans laugh at the lack of objectivity of the media. Their fake news narratives are so easy to spot, it makes you wonder if third-graders create them.
It’s not wonder took steps to safeguard themselves against the fake news manufacturers known as the media.
Reports are that CNN International, the global arm of CNN, ABC and CBS News will stop broadcasting in Russia. Not because these fake news outlets don’t want access. But this announcement came after the Kremlin introduced a new law in the country that could jail anyone intentionally spreading ‘fake’ news.
If CNN, ABC and CBS believe they are the purveyors of truth, then why not continue broadcasting?
Ok, I get it. I know that many are thinking as they read this.
The determination of “fake news” is considered subjective. Unless that determination is made by dictators. Ah ha! You proved my point.
Consider what’s happened in America.
When people report the real truth, if that truth doesn’t fit the Leftist narrative of truth, it is considered fake news. The Left goes as far as to “fact check” the truth, and turn truths into lies. And there are plenty examples of how the Leftist media spin works.
Take the Afghanistan withdrawal for example. For the Left, Biden’s tuck-tail-and-run strategy showcased leadership. They deem the most disastrous withdrawal in American history a success.
But there are plenty of other examples of amazing Leftist spin.
Russian collusion by Trump and his satellites or the notion that Hunter Biden is a Renaissance man and not a crackhead.
I’m not surprised that spin media outlets Bloomberg News, the BBC and Canada’s CBC join American’s media to temporarily suspend creating fake news inside Russia.
Russian officials claim (rightfully) that false information has been spread by enemies such as the United States and its Western European allies in an attempt to sow discord among the Russian people.
By rightfully, I declare that the Biden-controlled government with its media minions indeed have an evil agenda inside of Russia. The same is true of the “woke” pseudo allies of the U.S.
But it’s not just the media. Social media creates fake news.
These days it’s difficult to draw the line between media and social media when it comes to journalistic and ideological deceit. Facebook, Twitter, and other Left-wing social media sites are partnered with Leftists.
Thus, it came as no surprise to learn that Russia is blocking access to Facebook. Russia’s communications regulator Roskomnadzor said last week that the country would block Facebook entirely, after partially restricting the social network a week ago.
Facebook’s parent company Meta restricted access to Russian state media accounts, as Zuckerberg thought he could determine what the world reads about Russia. If America’s 2020 Presidential Election is any indicator, Zuckerberg doesn’t know sh*t.
Russia declared that Meta violated “fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens.” And they are right.
Despite what we are being told, Russia has a right to its own sovereignty. I’m not saying invading Ukraine was the answer. But I do know that neither Joe Biden nor Mark Zuckerberg should make that decision.
In a blog post Friday, Roskomnadzor said Facebook restricted the Zvezda TV channel, the RIA Novosti news agency, Sputnik, Russia Today, the Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru information resources.
Who is Facebook to declare what is media and what is not?
Frankly, I’m glad to see leaders with balls standing up to the lamestream media. Right or wrong on Ukraine, Putin is undoubtedly right on the media and social media. They are cancers. If he could count on them telling the truth, I’m sure he would allow them access.
