As if the Biden family didn’t have enough crow on their plate, here comes this Ho. That’s Doctor Ho to you.
Hunter Biden involved his family with America’s number one enemy. Without filing as a foreign agent, Hunter Biden acted as a lobbyist for the Chinese in a critical infrastructure area (energy) in America. Biden the Younger admits to being in business with the “number on spy in China”, who has direct ties to the CCP.
A fraction of that history would land any Trump in prison; yet no Biden has faced real justice on this or other equally significant breaches of the public trust.
Perhaps this potential lawsuit by a Chinese national will tip the scales of justice away from the “white privilege” Bidens?
Meet Dr. Patrick Ho
Hunter Biden received a $1 million payment from the Chinese firm CEFC to serve as the attorney for their employee, Dr. Patrick Ho. However, Dr. Ho is now threatening legal action against Hunter within seven days, demanding a refund of the money. Dr. Ho alleges that Hunter did not perform any legal services for him.
The implications of this claim poses a major threat to the Bidens. Republicans contend that the Bidens had nothing to offer. Hunter Biden was not a licensed attorney, so he couldn’t legally offer those services. Or was the only thing Hunter had to sell was influence with “the big guy”?
What is Hunter Biden’s service?
Last week, Dr. Ho, through the Hong Kong law firm Huen & Partners, sent a legal letter to Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell in Washington, DC. In the letter, Dr. Ho requested the immediate termination of their attorney-client agreement and warned of legal consequences unless Hunter provides a detailed list of services rendered and reimburses the unused funds, as specified in their 2017 contract.
The letter, which set a seven-day deadline for repayment, highlighted Dr. Ho’s claim that Hunter received payment without fulfilling the contractual obligations. The $1 million legal retainer was transferred from CEFC in China to CEFC’s Hong Kong HSBC account. Subsequently, on November 2, 2017, the funds were routed to the American bank account of Hudson West III (HWIII), a firm co-owned by Hunter and CEFC. From there, the money was transferred to Hunter’s private firm, Owasco, according to his California tax indictment.
The timing of this request for refund suggests that Ho knows he has the Bidens over a barrel. Now the question begs, “Who will the Bidens get to pay this bill for Hunter?”
As for why Dr. Ho might be vindictive, it could relate to the treatment he received back in late 2017.
The former Hong Kong Home Affairs secretary, Dr. Ho faced legal troubles himself. He was arrested in New York on November 18, 2017, and was convicted in 2019 for paying bribes to the presidents of Chad and Uganda. Ho was sentenced to three years in jail before being deported to Hong Kong. The Bidens may try to impugn Ho’s reputation based on this arrest, much like they are currently doing with the FBI whistleblower.
I have commented many times, to be in business with the Bidens is not a reputation-builder. It seems that almost all of their business dealings are crooked or involve crooks. Perhaps Dr. Ho is attempting to clean up his act. Or he could be laying the groundwork to get the Bidens.
Hunter Biden’s tortured testimony as reported by the New York Post:
According to Ho, Hunter, 54, pocketed the $1 million but did no legal work for him, other than call another attorney, Edward Kim, and turn up half an hour late for a meeting with Ho and Kim at the Manhattan Correctional Center the morning after Ho’s arrest.
Hunter didn’t visit Ho, 74, even once in jail, Ho has told friends bitterly.
But here’s where things get dicey, in my opinion. Because again, it’s my understanding Hunter Biden cannot practice law. I Googled “Can Hunter Biden practice law?” and got no actual response. Moreover, Hunter Biden’s name does not appear as an attorney on record for the Patrick Ho case in the Southern District of New York.
More from the New York Post:
Under oath, Hunter told Delaware district judge Maryellen Noreika, during his failed plea hearing of July 26, 2023, that he received the million dollar payment as “payment for legal fees for Patrick Ho,” through “my own law firm”.
Noreika wanted more detail: “Who is that payment received from, was that the law firm?”
Hunter: “Received from Patrick Ho, Your Honor.”
Noreika: “Mr. Ho himself?”
Hunter: “Yes.”
Noreika: “Were you doing legal work for him and apart from the law firm?”
Hunter: “Yes, Your Honor. Well –.”
Sniffing danger, Hunter’s lawyer Chris Clark stepped in at this point: “That wasn’t through Boise Schiller, Your Honor, Mr. Biden was engaged as an attorney.”
Noreika: “Right. So that’s why I asked. You were doing work for him –.”
Hunter: “My own law firm, not as counsel.”
Let’s face it: the Bidens aren’t good partners.
Their business ventures seem to pay out unidirectionally. Further, I haven’t heard of a single successful business venture they have been involve in.
Burisma received a temporary bonanza after Joe Biden got the Ukrainian prosecutor fired. However, the company still went bankrupt. Jim Biden’s Americore deal suffered the same fate. CEFC crashed and burned.
Somehow I don’t think success of the companies factored into the deals with the Bidens. I suspect having access by way of the Bidens as well as control of them was the key. From my vantage point, the Chinese got one helluva deal.
Joe Biden allows their spies to infiltrate our government, academia, and corporate America. The Chinese no longer need to steal secrets, as Biden allows them to plant spies anywhere they wish. For peanuts.
I’m anxious to see how Team Biden resolves the issue with Dr. Ho. Perhaps Hunter can sell more “art”?
