Black History Month Unwoke Edition: Celebrating Success Over Victimhood

Circa 2025, and Martin Luther King Jr. has finally stopped rolling over in his grave. Because the election of President Donald J. Trump has dragged Leftist America kicking and screaming to judging people by “the content of their character.”

For decades, Leftists have used Black History Month (BHM) to rub their own brand of racism in the face of Americans. Ironically, the child birthed by a Republican president was kidnapped by the Left and turned into a demon child that terrorized the nation annually.

As white people are marginalized routinely by racism of Leftists these days, each year Americans are chastised for creating the most successful nation for Blacks in the entire world. For the naysayers, I ask where is the mass exodus of Blacks to The Motherland? Year after year Americans are regaled by Leftists with Black oppression, and yet the census for Blacks continues to add numbers. Even more surprising is the exodus by Africans from almost all countries on the continent, ad they clamor to join their Black American brothers and sisters for some of that Black oppression.

Ironically, the richest “African-Americans” among us complain the loudest.

Remember, “Oscars So White”? Will and Jada Smith guilted “Progressive” Hollyweirdos into given Black people trophies. As it turns out, just being filthy rich Blacks earning $10 million a film wasn’t enough. Blacks also wanted the white man’s trophy.

Hollywood obliged and gave out a few Affirmative Action Oscars. Adding insult to nonsense, Hollywood “colorized” a few characters like Little Orphan Annie and the Little Mermaid. More recently, Captain America was colorized, as Chris Evans was transformed by Anthony Mackie, likely in Al Sharpton’s National Action Network lab. And Mackie didn’t disappoint, as he declared in a recent interview that Captain America doesn’t actually represent America. While I will admit, the Puerto Rican flag on his shield does throw off the informed politico, I still think the average American believes that Captain America represents the good ol’ USA.

History of Black History Month

In its inception, BHM was to educate the nation about historical Black figures, and as a reminder of Black contributions to the formation of the nation. But these days, Black achievement would not be complete without the woke brigade’s not-so-subtle reminders of slavery, Jim Crow, and systemic oppression. The irony, of course, is that the loudest voices bemoaning these historical injustices belong to Democrats—the actual architects of Black oppression.

Consider the institutions that claim to champion racial equity today. Universities, corporate HR departments, Hollywood, and leftist think tanks—all peddling the same divisive rhetoric that tells Black Americans they are forever disadvantaged. The truth? America, despite its flaws, has provided more opportunities for Black success than any other nation in history. That’s why so many African immigrants come here in droves, chasing the American Dream, while Black Leftists claim it doesn’t exist.

A Different View of BHM?

With Trump dismantling DEI and forcing America to return to its foundational principles of merit, BHM 2025 should look a little different. Instead of being a month-long guilt trip, it should be a real celebration of Black excellence—not just the cherry-picked stories of victimhood that keep race hustlers in business. It’s time to honor the inventors, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers who succeeded not because of affirmative action, but because they were simply the best at what they did.

Titans of industry like Robert Smith, who built a multi-billion-dollar empire, or Dr. Ben Carson, whose hands have saved countless lives didn’t need government handouts; they needed opportunity and a level playing field—something Trump is restoring. And yet, the Left will never acknowledge these success stories. Instead, they will spend the month decrying systemic racism while sipping lattes from their penthouses, oblivious to the real struggles of everyday Black Americans.

And let’s talk about the education system. For years, Black students have been used as political pawns, trapped in failing schools while Democrats kill every school choice initiative that could actually help them succeed. Trump, on the other hand, champions school choice and vocational training, empowering Black youth to escape the cycle of dependency. That should be a focal point of Black History Month, not another documentary on how America is irredeemably racist.

So what will this BHM bring?

Will Black Lives Matter celebrate 250 years of Black success and our role in making America the best nation in the world? Will they champion Trump’s return to meritocracy and celebrate the millions of Blacks who achieved without government handouts? Or will BLM, the NAACP, and other black grievance groups cave to their natural tendencies and decry America yet again?

One can only hope that Black Americans take the lesson of President Trump to heart. Trump is the ultimate poster child for BHM 2025. A man persecuted by Democrats for his beliefs. Ninety-one indictments, 34 wrongful convictions, and nearly bankrupted by the system. Yet, instead of succumbing to pressure, Trump persevered. He fought the power with all the panache of a protagonist in a Blaxploitation film from the ‘60s. And against all odds, Trump stuck it to “the man.”

Now that he’s back in office, his revenge is… success.

So here’s to BHM 2025—a celebration of 250 years of Black achievement in America, finally free from the Left’s suffocating grasp. It’s time to leave the narrative of oppression behind and embrace the reality of success. Finally, here’s to Donald Trump: honorary Black man.
